Perkins Thompson seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Government Services, Municipal and Land Use practice. The Firm’s practice group represents municipalities, municipal boards and committees, municipal officials, water and sewer districts, and quasi-governmental entities across the state on a broad range of matters including land use and zoning, shoreland zoning, contracts, ordinance drafting, property tax exemption and abatement, eminent domain, litigation, and regulation, including land use and enforcement matters. Our attorneys also regularly appear on behalf of private clients before municipal and state regulatory boards and administrative agencies on licensing and permitting matters, regulatory complaints, and other matters.
Candidates must possess a juris doctor degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to the Maine Bar in good standing. The ideal candidate will have strong legal and educational credentials, superior research and writing skills, and a strong commitment to providing clients with excellent service. While candidates of all experience levels will be considered, at least two years of post-law school legal experience is preferred, preferably in representing both public and private sector clients in municipal, land use, and environmental matters.
